Kingsley I. Jesuorobo

Kingsley I. Jesuorobo

Mr. Jesuorobo is a lawyer, author, entrepreneur and legal technology innovator whose career spans more than three decades of legal practice, advocacy, leadership and public service.

Mr. Jesuorobo has been a member of the Nigerian Bar since 1990 and the Ontario Bar since 1996. He studied law at the University of Benin, Nigeria, and the University of Toronto, Canada. He was pupilled by Chief C. O. Ihensekhien, S.A.N., in Nigeria and the law firm of Michael Waud in Canada.

Mr. Jesuorobo has successfully handled thousands of cases. In one year alone, he won 154 out of the 185 cases he argued before Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board. His cases have been cited in major scholarly works. His practice is distinguished by extensive advocacy before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada. Since his call to the Ontario Bar, Mr. Jesuorobo has devoted much of his practice to representing refugee claimants of limited means through Legal Aid Ontario.

Mr. Jesuorobo has guest-lectured on Immigration and Refugee Law practice at York University in Toronto and on law practice management at York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School. At Kellogg College, University of Oxford, he guest-lectured on Refugee Protection and Human Rights Law under the sponsorship of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Fahamu Refugee Programme. He has also regularly provided legal training and presented papers on a range of legal issues at various academic and professional fora.

Mr. Jesuorobo’s legal analysis and commentary on law, governance, public policy and issues of public interest have also been published by leading media organizations.

Mr. Jesuorobo has trained and mentored more than 60 lawyers in Canada. His mentorship work has included lawyers and paralegals participating in the Bar Admission Program of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Practice Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson University. He has also organized training programs in Toronto for more than a dozen judges of the Federal High Court of Nigeria.

Mr. Jesuorobo’s outstanding professional achievements have earned him several awards and global acclaim, including an Award of Excellence by the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch; the Planet Africa Television Award for Professional Excellence; and an award by the Nigerian Canadian Association for his outstanding contribution to the Nigerian-Canadian community. Planet Africa Magazine featured him as one of the ten most influential Nigerians in Canada, and ThisDay newspaper featured him as its Legal Personality.

His present leadership and public-service roles include membership on the Board of Governors of the Law Commission of Ontario and the Law Society of Ontario’s Access to Innovation Advisory Council. He is Vice-President, North America, of the African Bar Association and Chair of the Board of the Canadian Association of Nigerian Lawyers, where he previously served as President.

Beyond legal practice, Mr. Jesuorobo is the Founder and CEO of Danalix, an all-in-one legal and business management platform. He is also Chair of the Board of Directors of Lil Requester, a technology platform designed to help people with developmental challenges overcome social-communication barriers, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Benin Trust Development Fund. He co-founded FEVA TV, Canada’s premier Black television network, chaired the Board of the Canada–Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, and served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Democratic Alliance for Nigerians in Canada.

Mr. Jesuorobo metaphorically describes himself as “a lawyer by day, a poet by night and many other things in between.” He is the author of the Amazon bestselling Province of Poetry: A Collection of Poems and Philosophical Phrases and Mind Theft: Recognizing, Repelling and Remedying a Rampaging Risk. He is also a music composer under the stage name Poetician, with his published songs available on streaming platforms.

Jerome Olorunpomi

Jerome Olorunpomi

Mr. Olorunpomi has been a member of the Nigerian Bar since 1993 and the Ontario Bar since January 2011. He studied law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating in 1992, and attended the Nigerian Law School before his call to the Nigerian Bar. He practised in Nigeria for over 13 years, with an emphasis on land and property law, corporate and commercial law, and family law.

Since his call to the Ontario Bar, Mr. Olorunpomi has successfully represented clients in matters before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, including its Refugee Protection, Refugee Appeal, Immigration and Immigration Appeal Divisions. His practice also includes Federal Court applications for leave and judicial review, sponsorship applications and other immigration matters.

Drawing on his academic training and legal experience in Nigeria and Canada, together with his tutelage under Mr. Jesuorobo, he brings sound legal judgment and practical insight to complex issues. This interjurisdictional perspective continues to inform his work as an experienced lawyer.
